Michael is the Midwest Regional Director at The Carbon League, where he drives policy initiatives aimed at advancing carbon reduction and clean energy adoption. He currently manages 6 task forces of academic, government, community, and business leaders to address critical barriers in the Chicago energy ecosystem; these range from port decarbonization to commercial building financing to visualizing beneficial electrification. With a strong background in energy research, he has worked on technical projects spanning battery technology, building cooling systems, and photovoltaic reliability at institutions such as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Colorado School of Mines, and Northwestern University.
