Dr. Elizabeth A. Kocs

Chief Equity Officer at MachH2

As Chief Equity Justice Officer for MachH2, Elizabeth Kocs is leading economic, environmental, and societal considerations for hydrogen projects across the Midwest, and overseeing community benefits commitments that maximize positive impacts to local communities and the region.  In conjunction with the CEO and Chief Integration Officer, she represents MachH2 in public facing activities.

Elizabeth also serves as Senior Manager – Community Benefits at GTI Energy, where she manages key initiatives to advance community benefits and the impacts of integrated energy networks. Elizabeth has held several leadership, strategy and engagement roles over her 30-year career managing strategic energy, sustainability, transportation electrification, and environmental and climate justice programs. She has received the Chicago Area Clean Cities (CACC) Community Leadership Award for her work in transportation electrification, and the COP26 Climate Challenge Cup for the climate justice research project. Elizabeth holds an executive MBA from the University of Illinois, a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Environment Behavior Science from CUNY Graduate Center, and a 5-year professional Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.
